Montenegro is a Balkan country with rocky mountains, medieval villages and numerous beaches on the Adriatic coast. Reminiscent of the fjord, the Bay of Kotor is surrounded by churches and cities with the remains of fortifications, including Kotor and Herceg Novi. Bears and wolves live in the Durmitor National Park, which is famous for its limestone peaks, glacial lakes and the 1300-meter-deep Tara River Canyon.
