Monad’s Testnet-2, scheduled to begin in late May 2025, seeks to bolster validator readiness in a 10-week experimental phase. Led by co-founder Keone Hon, the initiative invites up to 150 participants to focus on mainnet preparations, emphasizing decentralization. Testnet-2 follows the earlier success of Testnet-1, which improved transaction throughput and engaged validators in February 2025. The project is not targeting funding rounds specifically for Testnet-2 but sustains growth through ecosystem initiatives.

The immediate impact centers on the technical community rather than the public market, as Testnet-2 is exclusive to validators. No public token activities are involved, keeping shifts in liquidity and total value locked minimal. The testnet’s focus is on hardening the network’s resilience, setting the stage for the anticipated mainnet.
