Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse meets with world leaders to discuss blockchain and crypto transparency

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has invited Ripple to establish a corporate headquarters in the country and ensure a friendlier environment. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinhouse said that transparency will play a key role in the crypto industry thriving.

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of blockchain startup Ripple, attended the World Economic Forum 2022 event this week. He met some of the world’s top politicians and banking officials to discuss the challenges in the blockchain and crypto space.

On Tuesday, May 24th, Brad Garlinghouse shared his expertise with the Prime Minister of Georgia on Blockchain adoption and regulation. In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili wrote :

Great Conversations with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse! He shared Georgia’s vision on the future of blockchain and regulation. With a company-centric environment and an innovative approach, we want to develop further as a technology and innovation center. Georgia is the first country to adopt blockchain in public services.

The meeting took place as part of the ongoing World Economic Forum 2022 in Davos, Switzerland. Financial experts from around the world, including bankers, finance ministers and others, came together to discuss various developments and initiatives in global finance.

According to local reports from Georgia, the Prime Minister of Georgia has also made an offer to Ripple’s CEO. The report states that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has asked Garlinghouse to open Ripple’s corporate service center in his country.

The Prime Minister advertised with the words: “Georgia has a favorable investment environment and a stable location”.

Ripple CEO talks about transparency in the crypto space

In his recent interview with Fox Business, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinhouse spoke about what it takes to thrive in crypto. Amid all the hype surrounding stablecoins these days, interviewer Brad Garlinhouse asked his opinion on the assets behind Tether.

To which Garlinghouse replied that he was not personally involved. He also added that he has no idea how Tether divides its finances. However, he added that there is a demand for strong transparency in the crypto space more than ever.

He further opined that not only Tether but the entire crypto industry needs to be transparent in order to thrive in the years to come. Garlinghouse further added that Ripple and the entire XRP community have been leading by example since the beginning.

On the other hand, Ripple General Manager Ashish Brila had a conversation with Dave Balter, CEO of FlipsideCrypto, a cryptocurrency and blockchain analytics company. The two actors discussed how companies can prevent cryptocurrency hacks and make blockchains more secure over time.

While Ripple executives remain optimistic about the future, the company is still fighting a major battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission over XRP’s status as a security.
